The 1999 Blandy’s Malmsey Coleitha Madeira cost around $75, has 19.5% alcohol, and scored a superb 18+ Dionysian points. It was golden brown, with caramel aromas. This 20-year-old wine was only bottled in 2015.

It was used AS dessert, not with a dessert.

Colheita wines are vintage wines, all from a single vintage, but aged in barrel much longer like a tawny port is aged.  They cost less than straight vintage Madeira.  The wine will last for 100 years. Madeira is perfect in front of a fireplace with wine-loving friends. In Vino Veritas.
