With 13% alcohol, scoring 18 Dionysian points, and costing close to a hundred bucks, the 2000 Chateau Cos d’Eteournel Saint-Estephe Bordeaux is coming into its peak at 18 years old. Lamb chops are what this wine demands.

Chateau Cos’DEstournel is one of the longest living Bordeaux wines. I’ve had them 30, 55 and even 100 years old and they just keep living on.

This wine has blackberry and vanilla notes lingering into a very long soft finish. It was decanted 45 minutes prior to serving and it continued to open through out the meal.  Saint-Estephe wines needs at least 10 to 15 years before drinking.  In Vino Veritas.
