The 2014 Vento Vermentino has 13.5% alcohol, scored 15 Dionysian points, and and cost under $18.

It is a very nice food wine. Vermentino, an old Italian grape, goes well with seafood and shell fish.  This sample,  from Tuscany,  originates on the “Terre di Talamo” hill and overlooks the sea. It’s a refreshing wine and beats many over-oaked New World whites.

Vermentino is a white wine that you can served with chicken, pork, cheese dishes, well the list goes on and on. Try some soon and the Vento is one of the better ones.

The wine is sealed with a glass stopper that can be re-sealed; perfect for BYOB’s is you don’t finish it.  Drink it cool, not too cold and not the minerality and citrus. In vino veritas.
