The Spanish 2015 Cune Rose scores 15+ points on the 20-point Dionysian scale. It cost under $10, and with 13% alcohol, it is an ideal summer wine to pair with light meals.

Made from 100% Tempranillo grapes from the Rioja region. It’s a beautiful wine.

The wine is crisp, with watermelon aromas over wild strawberry. It made a very simple dish exceptional. I get a case each spring and drink over the first half of summer.

Served with salted almonds, fresh stripper-fish salad from the sea the same day, pasta with oil, bacon bits and cheese over kale.  A fresh mint leaf made the water special too.

This is a wine that everyone can love.  In vino veritas.
