Scoring 17 points out of 20 Dionysian points, with 15% alcohol, and costing about $24, the 2016 Ironstone Vineyards Reserve Old Vine Zinfandel  could age another ten years before fading.Higher alcohol table wines are all best  consumed within eight years.

Dark garnet in color, soft tannins, and a mouth filling bramble fruit taste with black pepper notes made this wine quite enjoyable. It was served with wild rice, a small piece of grilled venison, and a pea and carrot mix.
