Costing under $24, with  14.3% alcohol, and scoring a fine 15 points on the Dionysian scale, the 2016 Landmark Vineyards Overlook Chardonnay from Sonoma County, is loaded with French oak and full bodied. This style is meant to drink on release, not to cellar for a decade.

Oaky, high alcohol whites are good for reception drinks, and with cheese and grapes. It’s a bit much to pair with subtle foods.

Landmark makes quality wines in the style of the 90’s decade, so this one is  ideal for people who want peach instead of apple in their Chardonnay, Landmark is the wine you want. This selection is “Cellared and bottled by” Landmark, meaning they bought the wine from someone else and prepared it for bottling.  Always check the small print on wine labels.

“Grown, Produced, and Bottled by,”  is what I usually look for.   In Vino Veritas.
