Legende is from Domaines Barons de Rothschild and they make a basic, but quite good red and white Bordeaux. The Legende 2018 White Bordeaux  has 12% alcohol, cost $17 and scored 15 points on the Dionysian Scale.

The 2016 (great vintage) Legende Red Bordeaux, cost $18, has 12.5% alcohol, and scored 15+ points on the 20-point Dionysian Scale.

The white is 55% Sauvignon Blanc and 45% Semillon. It’s an excellent food wine.  The red is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, and is great for large parties when you still want a nice wine.

The white was served with a starter fish course, and the red was served with a lamb chop. Both exceeded our expectations.

The white has citrus and a hint of fig aromas. The red has bright cherry and cassis notes.

Both wines are basic AOC’s Bordeaux, and not from a smaller specific destination. Serving them as a pair dresses up the table setting and makes for good wine conversation. Try them both . They 2016 will age a decade at least.
