The 2010 Grand Cru Beaujolais, Julienas, from  Chateau des Capitans and distributed by Georges Duboeuf, has 13.5% alcohol, a ripe strawberry nose with hints of ripe banana and it  paired very well with corn beef, potatoes, carrots and cabbage. A side glass of Irish beer  also helped highlight the sweetness of the carrots while the wine married with the corn beef.

This age-worthy Beaujolais scored 16+ points on the Dionysian scale of 20. It will continue to age gracefully for another five years. This specific Julienas house is co-owned by the Duboeuf and Deutsch families, and is known for nice wines even in off years. In vino veritas and Slainte!
