Costing under $29, the 2013 white Burgundy, Beaune 1er Cru Les Greves from Domaine de Montille scored 17+ points on the Dionysian scale of a possible 20.  Its 12.5% alcohol, long, clean aftertaste, and nicely balanced taste offered a wine to age a few more years, or drink early.

It’s a Martin Scott wine and it  s an excellent buy for white Burgundy. Les Greves is a Premieur Cru vineyard in Beaune.

The wine paired superbly with a light veal dish, spring peas, and some buttered noodles. The Chardonnay reflected the vineyard showing mineral, apple, vanilla from the oak, and at five years, the wine is maturing well. Lighter than the 2015’s, but still a nice Burgundy. In Vino Veritas.
