This wine comes from the Shenandoah Valley AVA in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. The winery was an Amish-restored building. There is very limited production.

Served with a Pork Roast, the wine made a simple dinner a celebration feast of fine dining.

Cabernet Franc always has a dried rose pedal scent and it grows well on America’s East Coast. It should be more widely planted. It pairs well with everything you’d use Cabernet Sauvignon with, but is more subtle.

The 2014 Sunset Hills  Cabernet Franc scored 17 Dionysian points on their scale of a possible 20. It has 13% alcohol and cost under $24. It is an excellent food wine, but is very hard to find. It has soft oak notes and ripe fruit with perfectly balanced acids.  In vino veritas.
