Costing about $15, with 13% alcohol, the 2008 Robert Michele Vouvray, from the Loire Valley in France, scored a fine 16+ points on the 20-point Dionysian scale.

Pinot Noir is my usual wine with salmon, but the sautéed spinach and radish-covered salmon laced with a cream sauce pair exceptionally well with the Vouvray
The peach and ripe melon aromas were strong for this eight year-old white. I always age my Vouvray wines; the sweetest versions can last 30 to 40 years. It was soft and easy to drink but had enough acids to be refreshing.
I will use Vouvray again with salmon and really enjoyed this combination. It worked very well. In vino veritas.
