The Darnat-Jacquinet 2009 Puligny-Montrachet has 13.5% alcohol, cost over $45, scored 19 points on the Dionysian scale of a possible 20 and was the best white Burgundy I’ve had in a year.

Apple, pear, butter and subtle oak fill your nose and the perfectly balanced flavors lingers a long, long time. I should have bought a lot more of these.
The wine is just starting to come into its own at nine years old.
Wines like this one, from a fine year and well made, are the reason we try to learn as much as possible about wine because it simply makes life better. In Vino Veritas.
