The 2003 Rodney Strong Sauvignon Blanc Charlotte’s Home from Sonoma County had 13.5% alcohol, (too much for Sauvignon Blanc), cost under $13, and scored 15 points on the 20-point Dionysian scale.
It held together, but would have been better about six years ago.

Rodney Strong wines are always a “Best Buy” because you get real quality at a fine price. This one was just over its peak. As much as I like older complex wines, some examples just have to be consumed earlier.
I was lucky enough to do a live radio show with Rodney Strong about eight years before he died. He was stationed in Atlantic City for a while in the military. The SB had white grapefruit and good acid, but fell short of being exceptional. In Vino Veritas.
