With 13% alcohol, this 2015 Luca Bosio Arneis from the Langhe in Italy’s northern Piedmont region scored 18 gold medal points on the Dionysian scale of a possible 20. At five years old, it is flowery dried fruit with great mouth-refreshing acidity. The wine comes from the foothills of the Alps.
The Luca Bosio cost about $15, and that’s remarkable for a wine with apricot and peach notes, and a lingering pineapple aroma that runs into the aftertaste. It finishes clean and refreshing. It’s a great food white. Seek it out, and let it rest for just a few years.
It’s worth the short wait. In Vino Veritas.
