Worth over $1,000 now, but was under $90 when bought, and with 13% alcohol, the 1982 Grand Cru Chateau Margaux scored 19.5 points on the Dionysian scale of 20.

Rich leather and black fruits rise after decanting. At 35 years old, the wine is near peaking,  but will hold another decade. Soft tannins, medium weight and a long clean finish explains why Bordeaux should be aged at least a decade no matter what year it’s from. In Vino Veritas.

Chateau Margaux is the perfect wine to pair with lamb chops. Little else ned be said about this superb wine. No wonder Hemingway loved it.
