The 31 year-old 1990 Dievole Dieulele Chianti Classico had 12.5% alcohol, cost under $20, and scored 18 points on the 20-point Dionysian scale.

Keith Bader introduced me to this wine. It aged beautifully with still ruby color hosting an orange edge. It is floral with spices and sun-dried tomato aromas. It was decanted just prior to tasting and continued to open for nearly an hour.

Served with opening tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches on a frosty late spring evening.

It had little sediment, filled the front, middle and back of your mouth and was soft to taste. My last 1990, but well worth the wait for this one. Dionysians Vince Rappa and Jack Tomasello would have loved its flavors. In Vino Veritas.
