Under $30 back then, with 20% alcohol and scoring 18 Dionysian points out of 20, the 1991 Warre’s Vintage Porto, bottled in  1993, and now at 27 years-old, is just coming into it own.

Garnet red, with black fruit on its nose, this Porto paired perfectly with blue cheese and walnuts. It was used as dessert, not served after desert. Decanted a full hour before drinking.

Everyone should have a Port from their children’s birth year, if even a LBV (Late Bottled Vintage), but the true Vintage Ports seem to last forever.  I use to think Port was just for snowy nights, but great Port can be enjoyed any tie of the year.  In Vino Veritas.
