The 1992 Kenwood Artist Series Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma Valley had 13% alcohol and cost under $20 when released. It scored 18 Dionysian points on the 20 point scale. Dionysian John Gartland loves the culture and story behinds this type of wine.
After decanting, the 27 year-old wine smelled and tasted similar to Bordeaux.

This 1992 label was painted by author Henry Miller, famous for “The Tropic of Cancer” and “Nexus.”

It was aged in French oak and released on 1995. It had golden-brown edge, some cigar-box on the nose, and had a long, long clean aftertaste. It was at peak.

The wine was served with  eye-round beef.  The idea for the labels comes from what Chateau Mouton-Rothschild does in Bordeaux. I collected nearly two decades of Kenwood Artist Series Cabs, and enjoy them all. In Vino Veritas.
