At 12.5% alcohol, a beautiful balance you seldom see anymore, and costing about $19, the 2000 Chateau Greysac Cru Bourgeois from Medoc scored a silver medal 17 Dionysian points out of 20.
Decanting showed less sediment than expected for this 20 year old Bordeaux. It is nearing peak with black fruits, spices, and Lexis leather in the nose.
Greysac is always a Good Buy with respect to all the other excessively expensive Bordeaux. I’ve cellared and enjoyed them for three, nearly four decades. Seek them out. In Vino Veritas.
