The Nasiakos 2006 Agiorgitiko dry red wine from Greece,’s Peloponnese Region,  at 12.5% alcohol, cost under $15, and scored 15 solid points on the 20-point Dionysian scale.

This is food wine. Soft tannins, fruity with black berry aromas, and a medium weight, like most Greek reds, it works well with any meat dish.

Prime rib, sweet potato and asparagus with a Greek red designed to pair with lamb casseroles. It worked here too.

I try to age this Greek red grape, from all its producers, between 5 to 10 years and so far, it’s worked out nicely. In vino veritas.
