With 13.5% alcohol, the 2006 Terrazas Reserve Chardonnay  scored 15 points on the 20-point Dionysian scale. It cost under $15 and at nine years old, it was still holding well,  not unlike a French white Burgundy.

Subtle oak was laced with creamy tropical fruits. It was balanced and had enough clean acid to be a refreshing food wine. It aged well with its Twist-off cap.

Apricot had developed since I last tasted this wine. It was aged 8 months in 80% French oak and 20% American oak.

Grown in the Mendoza area up at 3,900 feet permitted the wine to develop great natural acids. It was excellent at 4 years old, and now proved that it can age. The color is presently a deep, bright  gold. In vino veritas

The Chardonnay was served with a simple autumn dish of roasted red-skin potatoes, fresh spinach and chicken. A simple, but excellent dish from Joanne Mahoney.
