Grabbing 16 points from the Dionysian 20-point scale, this Cadencia Grand Reserva Malbec from the Cacahapol Valley in Chile and made at the Butron Budinich Winery was a treat.

This Malbec is big. Rich with black fruits, soft tannins and a long aftertaste that paired so well with the tomato-based bean dish. Alcohol  is not listed anywhere so I’m guessing that it is about 14.4% and balanced nicely.

IMG_3248The Malbecs from the Cachapoal Valley all have great potential and are wines that can age for a decade or more. In vino veritas.
