The 2009 New Jersey Amalthea Cellars Reserve Viognier grown in theOuter Coastal Plane AVA, has 12.5% alcohol, cost under $17. It scored 17 points on the Dionysian Scale of a possible 20.

It was produced and bottled in Atco, NJ, USA. The wine aged very well.

Well made Viognier can age five to ten years and the aging will enhance the honeysuckle and peach aroma.s that filled this example.  This was excellent.

The Viognier, a Rhone Valley grape that is doing well in many parts of America, was served with a basic cod fish dinner. It became the feature of the meal. In vino veritas.
