The  2011 Crios Torrontes from Argentina had 13.8% alcohol, cost under $14 and scored 17 points on the Dionysian scale of 20.

Crios means “your children” or “offspring” in Argentine slang.  This is Jose Lovaglio’s first production after taking over form his mother. It was floral, had some honeysuckle, pear and Muscat aromas.

The Torrontes from Argentina is different from the Spanish grape. It has much more floral aromas with less bite. It’s an everybody wine.

Served with veggies, it was the hit of the evening. Wine is food.
