The 2012 Clos des Lunes Lune Blanche Grand Vin Blanc Sec Bordeaux scored 15+ points on the Dionysian scale of 20. It has 12.5% alcohol and cost about $15.
Extremely smooth, it is made with 70% Semillon and 30% Sauvignon Blanc. The Semillon adds the fig aroma to the Sauvignon citrus notes.
Made in the Sauternes District of France’s, Bordeaux, the grapes are hand picked and meant to be drunk within five or so years. This dry white wine comes from Domaine de Chevalier, famous for one of the top white Bordeaux wines that’s available in the USA. Second labels are great buys.
