At seven years old, the 2012 Notios from the Greek Peloponnisos, had 12 % alcohol, scored 15 points on the 20-point Dionysian scale, and cost under $9 a few years ago. Made to drink young, this wine can age nearly a decade. I think it’s perfect at six or seven years.

Straw-gold in color, it’s blended with 50% Roditis and 50% Moschofilero, it’s a perfect summer wine ideal for salads, seafood, and cold soups. All the Greek wines are food wines. Dry and refreshing.

Imported by Athenee Wines, it is a must for people who love different wines other than Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.  The Notios has citrus and stone notes, is balanced with medium weight, and finishes cleanly. Seek one out and age it for a few years. In Vino Veritas.
