With 13% alcohol, the 2013 Tinto Fronton de Oro Spanish wine is from the Canary Islands. It cost about  $16 and was an excellent food wine scoring 16 points on the Dionysian scale of 20.

It had rich dark fruit and refreshing acid as a food wine should. It was rounded out in oak for about a year.

It’s produced and bottles by Sat Camaretas on Gran Canaria, Spain.  It’s Negra-comian y tintilla. These are wines to seek out. In vino veritas.

We served a red and a white with the dish. The Spanish red worked best.
