The Evans & TateĀ  2014 Butterball Chardonnay from Australia scored 17 Dionysian Points, cost under $18, has 13% alcohol and was an exceptional wine.

Rich peach, melon, and nutty flavors rise slowly. The French oak rounded out the wine without there being too much oak.

A bit too full for seafood, but it was perfect with pork. It’s a round easy drinking white wine.

The wine paired well with a first course of soup on a chilly spring evening.

Evan & Tate has long been one of my Australian favorites. It’s a food wine.

The Butterball is not overdone with oaky butter. Try it. In Vino Veritas.
