Costing about $30, with 12.4% alcohol, the 2014 Palmaris Pinot Noir Reserve from Tomasello Winery scored a fine 15 points on the Dionysian scale.

Light in color like French Burgundy, the five year old wines was ready. Earthy notes flowed over very light cherry. It was soft.

Ideal for duck breast, we used it with an opening veggie soup.

The Palmaris (Latin for Prize-worthy) is the top line from the Tomasello 3rd generation of winemakers. It’s an Outer Coastal Plain selection.  Seek out other Palmaris styles.  In Vino Veritas.
