The 2014 Sunset Hills Viognier Virginia wine from the Shenandoah Valley has 13.5% alcohol, cost $16, and scored 15 Points on the Dionysian scale of 20.

It is straw yellow, balanced with hints of pear, honeysuckle and peach. It is dry and went well with potato added vegetable soup.

Virginia makes, I think, the best Viognier wines outside of France.

The winery has impressed me a number of times for keeping the alcohol down and making classic food wines.  In vino veritas.

This Sunset Hills Viognier would also go nicely with game birds or pork roast.
