The 2014 Vine Herminia Garanacha Rose’ from the Rioja  region of Spain, scored 16 points on the Dionysian scale of a possible 20.  It’s a 13.5% delightful sipping or dinner wine.

A cheese laced paste with olive oil and sautéed mushrooms over garden fresh spinach was ideal for the Vina Herminia.

Costing about $9, this is a great buy. Strawberry notes over a mineral and citrus aromas with a medium length finish and a clean aftertaste; the wine pairs well with most food.

The Rose’ must be drunk cold ; 45-49 degrees.  Spanish Rose’, unless they have too much residual sugar, are among the best food wines out there. This wine will last five good years, but is best enjoyed young. I just picked up 24 bottles for my summer drinking on the deck and to share with wine friends. In vino veritas.
