Scoring 16+ points on the Dionysian scale of 20 and costing about $25, the 2016 Eponymous Proprietary White from Carneros, Sonoma had a pleasant 13.8% alcohol.

This is a perfect First-course white with orange zest, white peach and even honeysuckle notes on its nose.

The wine is 84% Pinot Blanc, a grape most Chardonnay drinkers are seeking out, and 16% Riesling which adds the hint of coconut to the flavor. The wine will pair with any appetizer, and can be served as a greeting aperitif. Try one.

Winemaker Bob Pepi served the wine for me in New York on Tuesday evening. He said that the six months sur lie aging (resting on the dead yeast) added the interesting complexity.

This is a white wine for summer! Enjoyable with food or all by itself. In Vino Veritas.
