With 12.7% alcohol, costing about $18, and scoring 18 gold medal points on the Dionysian scale of 20, the 2017 Bellview Gruner Veltliner may be the best example of that Austrian grape on America’s East Coast.
The wine showed mineral citrus, some wild flower notes, and had good acidity. An ideal food wine. Bellview is in New Jersey’s Outer Coastal Plain AVA . It’s grown, produced and bottled by the winery.

Ready when purchased, but this wine can age easily three to five years adding subtle complexities to the aroma. Check out the winery on line at www.BellviewWinery.com and plan a visit to one of their outdoor activities. You’ll relax and imagine being in California, or even Austria. In Vino Veritas.
