About $18, with 13.5% alcohol, the 2019 Vietti Roero Arneis scored 18 Gold Medal points on the dionysian scale of a possible 20.

All Arneis is good. It’s the perfect Piedmont, Italy white wine for nearly every meal that calls for a white wine. But, Vietti is a master at making it. Yellow gold, mineral and floral nose, full mid and back palate, and a balanced aftertaste.

Served with fennel, stuffed chicken with sun-dried tomato and Italian cheeses. The wine brings out every flavor and makes a meal special.

Mr. Vietti is gone now, but I was honored to have lunch with him at his home 30 years ago. His wines have never faltered. Try them. This Arneis will age a decade. It’s a perfect Thanksgiving white wine. In Vino Veritas.
