The 2012 Lazy Caesar Montepulicano d’Adruzzo has 13% alcohol, scored 14+ points on the Dionysian scale of a possible 20, and cost under $10.

It was inky purple showing it’s still very young, was medium-bodied and velvety with balanced tannins. This simple food wine had blackberry and herb aromas.

It’s a classic example of what the region produces.

The Abruzzo Region of Italy is famous for growing this Montepulciano grape and this is a perfect example of what the area produces every year. In vino veritas.
