The 14.5% alcohol seems high, but I can not detect it. More French wines will say that percentage to keep from being included in the new tariffs charging more for wines under 14% more alcohol. The 2019 Pays Du Gard is from the Lirac and Tavel areas of the Rhone Valley. It cost under $15 and scored a nice 16 points on the Dionysian scale of 20. The appellation is simply a “Geographique Protegee”.
This Rose’ is ideal with foods. It’s bigger and more filling than the ones I love from Provence. This one is a specific Les Lauzel example and it’s worth every penny. In Vino Veritas.
