The multi-Vintage Champagne LEARGE-PUGEOT Rose’ has 12% alcohol, cost around $45 and scored 18 Points on the Dionysian 20-point scale! It’s a Gold Medal winner! From Vrigny in France’s Champagne district, this Rose’ is hard to beat.

This is an RM, not an NM Champagne meaning they make it all themselves. “Recoltant Manipulant.”

The bubbles carry cherry pit aromas from the Pinot Noir. It’s toasty and classically French with a balanced and long aftertaste. This Premier Cru example is ideal as a Reception wine and pairs well with most Hors d’oeuvres.

It ages well and when bought by the case, you can easily drink just two a year and note the subtle changes in its complexity. Try some; age some.  This is one of my top Rose’ Champagnes. In vino veritas.

Rose’ Champagne with cantaloupe, prosciutto and mozzarella; almost a meal in itself. A traditional Joanne Mahoney summer appetizer designed to pair with Champagne, the king of sparkling wines.
