The 12% alcohol NV Moet & Chandon Nectar Imperial scored 15+ points on the Dionysian Scale of 20. It cost under $49. It’s sweet enough to serve with pastry desserts, but as I did, it also works as an aperitif.

The residual sugars are not as noticeable when poured over ice. I know, wine over ice! But it works when it’s sweet. Served with salted almonds and crumbles of blue cheese, it was a great start to an outdoor dinner on the deck.

In vino veritas.
