At 12% alcohol, costing under $18, and scoring 17 excellent points on the Dionysian scale of a possible 20, the 2016 Sharrott Winery Barrel Reserve Chardonnay is a wine to enjoy now.

Buttery riche apple and pear are laced with fine oak in a well balanced wine. The color was yellow-gold and it had enough acids to be refreshing.

This wine is one of the East Coast better Chardonnays. It works with chicken and pork dishes and goes well with nearly every soft cheese.

The wine was sur lies aged in American oak to help round it out and provide a big mouth feel. It’s a wine you can serve to new drinkers as well as to wine experts.  In Vino Veritas.
