The 2016 Two Angles Red hills Lake County Petite Sirah has 14,3% alcohol, good for a Petite Sirah, scored 17 points on the Dionysian scale and cost under $30.

Enjoyed with white rice, home-grown lima beans, and grilled beef. Every item on the dish brought out more fruit in the wine.

The Winery is in Oakville, in Nape County, but the grapes were grown in Lake County just above Napa. It was only three years old, and needed another five to show its best.

Petite Sirah is usually used to blend in deeper color with other red grapes. Two Angles does a great job letting it stand on its own.

Expect to see more wines made entirely of or mostly with Petite Sirah.  In Vino Veritas.
