The 2001 Riesling Eiswein Gochemer Klostergarten cost $150. It scored 19 Dionysian Points. Its 9.9% alcohol made this Mosel-Saar-Ruwer German wine an excellent example of how great dessert Riesling can be.

Shared with good friends, it was dessert in itself, but fresh cheesecake married with it. Dionysian Exchequer Tad Naprava says if you have it for breakfast, you don’t need to eat all day.

These great German dessert wines only come in 375ml bottles. They are meant to be sipped slowly and savored like a special kiss.

Loads of honey and apricot and a strong white flower aroma lingered from the glass,  and from the mouth after sipping. The aftertaste, stayed floral, but it finished clean and refreshing with no cloying effect.

At 16 years old, it has another 25 years of life left. In Vino Veritas.
