The 2003 Chateau La Tour Blanche First Growth Sauternes scored 17+ points  on the Dionysian Scale. It  has 13% alcohol and cost just under $45.

The wine was filled with honey and apricot. Fig and honeysuckle aromas flowed endlessly. The sweetness is cleared after 20 seconds by its refreshing natural acids.

At 13 years old, the wine was still young. It has another 25 years left. Half bottles will age faster and I suggest you split a case with a good friend. The 2014’s are on the market now.

The Sauternes  was paired with Creme brûlée, as it should have been,  and you could not tell where one flavor ended and the other started.  I’ve had other vintages of this wine scoring up to 19. Lay some down now. In vino veritas.
