The 2008 Mahoney Vineyards Vermentino, “Las Brisas Vineyard,” in Napa’s Carneros AVA, is a 13 % alcohol easy drinking white wine that scored 15 points on the Dionysian 20-point scale. Costing about $18, this Italian grape grows very well in the cool Carneros region of California.

Filled with the aromas of spring flowers and white peaches, the wine is worth every cent. Serve with white meats, fish, and veggie dishes.

I’ve met the owner a few times, but we are not related. Mahoney in Ireland is like Kim in Korea, or Smith in Great Britain.  In vino veritas.
