Venison medallions, usually paired with Rhone wines or even Zinfandel, paired well with this Bordeaux. The mashed sweet potato and Brussel sprouts need big young flavors.

The 2010 vintage was excellent and this wine will age at least two or three decades. It was a deep crimson color, with black fruits and subtle vanilla. It was full bodied and had lots of young tannin. Age it and you’ll be rewarded. In vino veritas.
