The Couly-Dutheil  2011  Chinon was 14% alcohol, cost under $20 and scored 16 points on the 20-point Dionysian scale.

Its still garnet color was filled with dried rose pedal aromas from the Cabernet Franc, the grape that does so well New Jersey. Red Fruit was mixed with oak flavors and it  had very little sediment.

It was one of the nicest food wines from the Loire Valle in France that I’ve had in some time.  Perfect with duck, or a roast , but I had it with rabbit.

This specific example is the Baronnie Madeleine bottling. It is still youthful at 6 years old, and I expect it to mature for another dozen years, at least, before it starts to peak.  In Vino Veritas.
