Scoring 16 Dionysian points, the 2012 Marques Casa Concha Chardonnary from Concha Y Toro  in Chile, cost under $29, and has 14% alcohol in it; a bit too high for Chardonnay. I’ve been to their winery in Chile, and it is very American-like; even their tasting room.  That may explain the higher alcohol.

It was served with flounder and was a bit too much for the fish. I enjoyed it better after dinner with some Monterey Jack cheese.

It had lots of oak, was smooth and rounded-out with some tropical fruit notes.

At seven years old, it is peaking. I’m surprised.   In Vino Veritas.
