A perfect 13.5% alcohol and costing around $30, the 2015 Chateau Greysac Cru Bourgeois from Bordeaux’s Medoc scored 17 points on the Dionysian scale. It is balanced, but still young. All Bordeaux reds need 10 years to show their best.

The 2015’s were all great and I hope you put some in your cellar. They’ve made wine there since the 1700’s. Blue fruits and oak show the most at present. 61% merlot,29% cabernet sauvignon, 3% cabernet franc, and 3% petit verdot was the blend for 2015. Each harvest determines the blend.

Served with grilled beef and a bit of venison. It enhanced both flavors.

It’s still purple in the heart of the wine, with a hint of brick on the edge. Lots of time to go. I’ll cellar the rest of the case and drink it in ten years (I hope) with friends who love old Bordeaux. Call me. In Vino Veritas.
