At 14.4% alcohol, just under my limit, the Two Angels Petite Sirah from the Red Hills in Lake County, just above Napa in California, is smooth as silk. It scored a fine 16+ points on the 20-point Dionysian scale.

The wood and black fruit is balanced. It reflects herbs, blackberries and red currants. It’s still deep purple and needs some time to fully mature, but if not now, when?

We had it with a mix of pasta dishes.

The wine will help hard cheese and any red meat. It has a long after-taste and the tannin is there even though it’s hard to notice.

The label is kind of a “before and after” reflection. Always drink water with wine at dinner and in moderation. That way you can do it again tomorrow. In Vino Veritas.
