The 2015 Villa La Vie En Rose from Lionel Osmin has a perfect 12% alcohol for a food-Rose. It scored 16 Dionysian points and cost just under $10.
It’s made from 100% Negrette grapes, grown and produced in the southwest of France near Toulouse city, just above Spain. The grape entered France by the Crusaders who found it in Cyprus. It seems to be descended from the Mavro grape; a dark red grape that makes big wines.
This is an example of what I call a Best Buy; high quality – low price. Seek it out and enjoy it all summer long. In vino veritas.
