The 2016 Landmark Vineyards Overlook Chardonnay from Sonoma County scored 16+ Dionysian points out of 20, had 14.3% alcohol, and cost under $25 then. The color is already browning like a 25 year-old white Burgundy.

Filled with Meyer lemon and rich oak, and white peach in the aftertaste, the wine was at peak at six years old and maybe, well, most likely, heading down a bit.

Good for some Asian cuisine, but we had it with roasted chicken.

14% alcohol should be the maximum for any food wine. It’s good, but most likely not one to repeat. In Vino Veritas.
